"Keep calm and battle on"

Films: Robot Overlords (2014)

Alias: Various, notably the Clankers, Deep Scanners, and Mediators (Mediator 452)

Type: Alien

Location: Eldritch Location/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of average humans to twice that of tanks.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: It's like any other alien invasion flick. Or at least, one of the formats. A bunch of evil beings come to Earth, enslave it, and at least one guy becomes the one to lead us all to freedom. In this case, the takeover was a swift one from some ornery machines.

History: Out of nowhere, giant robots coming in huge cubes, seeking knowledge and conquest, forced us into the unhappiest quarantine ever. Anyone caught outside would be either captured or killed. Everyone's got a tracking chip to make sure they stay in place. But now, there's a wrench in the works. A guy named Sean has a defective black chip, which enables him to control the robots. Now, the whole empire wants his head while he just wants his family, wherever they are.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After removing his chip and then using it again, Sean manages to single-handedly end the invasion by ramming an aircraft into the mothership, as well as force a Mediator to call off the whole thing. The robots destroyed, Sean and pals can recover along with the rest of humanity.

Powers/Abilities: Almost all robots are durable, come with laser guns, and can detect anyone with the chips. Also, some can take on a human form, giving us the Mediators.

Weakness: A person with a faulty chip can control them, one at a time. Also, heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 4-Having a bunch of small-huge robot cops roaming around the place is a scary thought for sure (though unlike cops usually, they at least give you ten seconds to comply). The bigger they are, the more likely you'll be mulch, though the Mediators are the epitome of uncanny valley. But alas, while the CGI isn't too bad by low-budget standards, it's still a bit of an eyesore.

Trivia: -A TV show is being talked about regarding this film. It hopes to take place in a parallel universe, and delve further into the robots' motives.

-Mediator 452's voice alteration methods are the same used to make the voice of GlaDOS from "Portal".

Come see the sights, metal masters!
Havoc happening right between their legs...or bodies, we can't be sure.

"It's always kidnapping that ONE human that makes this plan go pear-shaped."
